Dear Friends,
Welcome to the Greater Lansing Area Sports Hall of Fame. In 1976 we held our first annual induction ceremony, and what Dr. Walt Lingo, Burt Smith and Clayton Kowalk envisioned back then, is alive and well today. With the induction of 288 individuals, and 86 teams, the Hall of Fame Committee continues to work hard at selecting mid-Michigan’s finest athletes
for recognition.
Thanks to the Lansing Center’s support, we continue to expand and grow into one of this area’s most prestigious fraternities. We share the same enthusiasm in promoting mid-Michigan’s sports heritage.
It would be hard to name an area our size in this great country that has produced more talented athletes, coaches, and community leaders than the Greater Lansing Area has. People like Magic Johnson, John Smoltz, Charlie Gehringer, Dave Porter, Judi-Brown-Clark, Dean Look, Brad Van Pelt, Todd Martin, Kelly, Kevin and Kip Miller, Carol Hutchins, Kevin Jackson, Jordyn Wieber…you get the point, the list goes on and on, and it is a very impressive list.
I invite you to stop by and visit the Greater Lansing Area Sports Hall of Fame, and relive the history of mid-Michigan’s sports heritage; it is a great one.
Best Regards
Bob Every, Executive Director – Greater Lansing Area Sports Hall of Fame
